Academic libraries follow the Library of Congress Classification Outline. This is an organizational system to catalog books. Each book has a unique call number associated with a subject. The subject ranges below relate to United States History and Indiana History specifically.
Subject E-F: History of the Americas
If you wanted to browse our books on Indiana History, you could go to the second floor, find the F section, then look for books in the range of F521-F535. This is called browsing the stacks.
