1. Open in PDF Reader
The Open in PDF Reader option opens the PDF in a new window and it is no longer resting within the ProQuest platform, but on its own within the traditional Adobe Reader format. Please see the second screenshot for an example of the document opened in the Adobe Reader format.
2. Other Formats
When you select to view the Page view - PDF format of the full record, you will see links to Citation/Abstract, Full text - PDF and Page view (clickable). Each record will contain links to the available document formats and any linking tools that the library administrator has enabled to help locate the full text.
3. PDF options in the ProQuest Platform
The default view for Page view - PDF displays the PDF document within the ProQuest platform (notice the ProQuest platform menus and record tool bar at the top of the document).
For a reminder of how to use the options in the record tool bar, please see Full Record: Citation & Abstract in the Results section of this guide.
4. Adobe Reader Tools
Viewing a document in Adobe Reader brings up the full Adobe Reader tool bar. Some of the features available to you through Adobe Reader include zooming in/out, cropping, searching for keywords, saving, printing, emailing, the snapshot tool, and highlighting. Please use the help menu available through the Adobe Reader for assistance in using Adobe Reader to work with PDF documents.
